The emails have no affect on one another, the PSN email and the Origin email do not have to be the same address as long as he has linked them.
If he hasn't yet linked his accounts he needs to follow these steps:
Step 1 - Go to
www.ea.comStep 2 - Click on 'Login' in the upper right corner, if you are already logged in, log out.
Step 3 - Now the login form pops up, ignore the textfields and click the PSN button below
Step 4 - A new window pops up that allows you to login with your PSN account.
Step 5 - Now that the EA Server knows that you are the owner of this PSN account and if you already have an EA account you can now login to connect both accounts. In case you don't have an EA/Origin account yet, simply click the link on the right side to create one.
If he receives and error or it says that his PSN account is currently linked with another origin account he'll need to speak with a game advisor who can access his account and fix the problem.
You can reach a game advisor here:
https://help.ea.com/contact-us click on the orange button on the right to start a new case, follow the instructions and when you are presented with a contact method I recommend that you use the telephone option and the “call me” option so you don't have to stay on hold for a long time. The call back feature available to North America, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Slovakia, Switzerland, and the UK.
