Check your firewall and set 'activation UI' to trusted.
That's what worked for me.

I'm having the same problem but I think it all has to do with nvidia cards. Everyone I see posting this problem has an nvidia card and since amd is the "graphics partner" for BF4 they pay EA a bunch of money so that nvidia doesn't have access to the game before launch and therefore can't make optimized drivers. I think this all should stop. When amd is the "graphics partner" nvidia users suffer, when nvidia is the "graphics partner" amd users suffer. The game is going to make a buttload of money anyway, why not just have it open to both companies like it used to be with pc games and then you won't get so many customer complaints about the game?

I'm having this same problem as well, however when trying to do the PBsetup fix, it updates a bunch of files, but then gets stuck on one with the error# 0111 Could Not Convert <some file in my temp dir> to <some DLL in the pb directory>. Any ideas?

I had the same problem but this solved it for me:-
Open the BF4 Beta Folder from the Origin games directory then find & run the directx setup (DXSETUP). When complete, right click your BF4 icon and run as administrator.

Hope this helps.
