Just experienced the same issue, adjusted video settings, closed game and would not re open giving message about mantle failure or something. SO I followed yer intructions, opened that file with wordpad and changed mantle enabled from 1 to 0. saved file closed it and battlefield started no problem!

Hi I'm Italian
Thanks to your post you saved me from installing the whole game again thanks again
@asmcint95 wrote:If I had to take a guess, I'd say that the game's trying to render in Mantle when your NVIDIA GPU doesn't support it(Mantle is an AMD-specific render API). Check in C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Battlefield 4\settings and look for a file labeled PROFSAVE_profile. Look in there with a text editor(Wordpad strongly recommended) to see if you can find any settings to change render API.

Have you tried all tips and solution in this thread? Have tried this?
Go to My Documents>>Battlefield 4>>Settings folder. Open PROFSAVE_profile file via WordPad. Next, find the following line: GstRender.MantleEnabled and change the value to 0 (zero)
Save changes and check the game.
