BF4 Can 't Start Game

[ Edited ]

Hi

I can't start this game in any mode.  Win7 64bit, NV770, 16GB Ram, latest drivers.

After installing game without any errors I click on the 'Play Campaign' button or 'Play Multiplayer' button and nothing happens.  It doesn't try to launch the game, there are no error messages, just simply nothing happens.

I contacted your tech support who suggested trying a 'Repair Install' which made no difference.  He then suggested uninstalling the game and reinstalling which I have done and again the same result.

I have deactived antivirus and all firewalls, tried all driver updates, and still can't even get the game to launch.

Hello,

Press and hold the 'Windows' Key followed by the 'R' key to open up a prompt window.
In the prompt window, type 'msconfig.'
When you have finished typing, click OK. At this point, you should now see the multi-tabbed System Configuration dialog box.
Click on the 'General' tab
Choose the 'Selective startup' option
Uncheck the 'Load startup items' box.
Open the 'Services' tab.
Check the 'Hide all Microsoft services' option at the bottom of the tab.
Click the 'Disable all' button.
When prompted, restart your computer.

Community Manager
  1. Make sure the game is up to date in Origin.
  2. Users have reported issues with the IE browser, try using Firefox or Chrome.
  • Head to the Battlefield 4 installation folder, C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4 by default, then find the _Installer folder.
  • In _Installer, navigate into the VC folder, then into vc2012Update3, and finally redist.
  • In redist, find both the x86 and x64 versions of VCredist.exe.
  • Run and install both versions, and your game should now launch without error.

Here is an solution:

When you use Comodo Firewall -> You must deinstall it, it wont fix the problem when you only shut down the program.

I sent a complaint to the Better Business Bureau requesting a full refund. I recommend everyone else do the same. This is unecceptable don't sit back and let some company do this to you.

Hey I just got this game today and when it was done installing everything I clicked play and nothing happens.  No error or even like a screen showing that its launching it does not launch off of Origin which is really making me upset cause I want to play and my game wont launch.

I looked through a lot of problems people were having with launching and one of them involved punkbuster not being installed which I checked and it never installed when I said to have it installed.  I have installed punkbuster and still does not work.  My computer meets all the requirements for the game and I tried reinstalling it and had it repair install to see if there was files missing but still it does not work.  I have star wars of the old republic on there and I can launch that perfectly but I can't have anything pop up for battle field when I click play nothing happens and its really making me upset because I am a huge battlefield fan and it ain't working for me so please get back to me on this I want to be able to play tomorrow.

Thank You for your time.

It's probably because the game tries to launch through your browser, christ knows why. Don't ask.
