If I download battlefield 3 from a website will I be able to play multilayer or do I have to buy a pass separately

First of all, if you want to help yourself, then in the future write a descriptive subject text so people know what the thread is about. What you wrote says nothing about what you want help with.

Secondly, you can only download Battlefield 3 using Origin, you can however buy codes to add to Origin.
