PS3 version 1.09 update fails

Hi, the version 1.09 update continuously fails on my PS3. I have tried to download the update over 10 times but it throws back the error message "An error occurred during the download operation. (80710723)"

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi there Null!

This is a strange one.

The latest version is around 2000Mb if i remember rightly, do you have enough free space on your PS3 to complete the download?

This is the only thing i can see preventing download, does it get to the exact same point every time then give the error?

The percentage of the download varies and I have 144GB of space remaining. So far I have tried the following and now I am over 20 attempts:

• diconnected/diabled media servers/services and all other connected devices from my router except my ps3
• diabled UPnP on my router and PS3 console
• called my sevice provider to check for errors on my internet link
• used a 3G enabled router to download the updated which also failed with error "80029564"
• deleted the game data utility
• changed routers
• used a static IP address on my PS3 console

and now I have run out of ideas. I have just started playing BF3 online gaming and I was enjoying it until this happens, after the version 1.09 update was launched!

This is usually a case of going into - 

Network Settings > Media Server > Disable.

I had this issue and this disabling the Media Server fixed it straight away.

Have you checked to make sure the configuration settings are correct?

Manual Configuration

Open several TCP/UDP ports, in order to be able to connect your PS3

TCP: 80, 443, 5223
UDP: 3478, 3479, 3658

Server Name: ps3
Access enabled: Yes
Protocol: TCP
From port 80 to port:80
IP address - Your IP...

Restart your router.

Hey guys i solve the update problem to BF3 update 1.09 for PS3..
Many players couldn't update BF3, due in the middle of the download, shows a error mesenge (error 80710723) and the download fails. There's a way to update the game by PC, called Proxy Server, you'll download the update on PC than transfer to PS3, it's simple.
I know that many of you just gave up of the game because of this, but here's the sollution! Do the PS3 downloads and updates faster and 100% working!

I just use the proxy server! Besides, the site it's in portuguese, but they have a translator on the right side of the website!

The 1.09 link is not working anymore... I have the same problem, can't solve it. My download stucks at 80 percent. Please help me.

make sure that your wireless is off disconect the wired cable install the game from the disk then plug in internet and update  hope it helps

also download all update packs online and premium passes from the playstaion store install them first then try installing
