Help with Battlefield 2/Old EA account [ Edited ]

Hello!, Today i got Battlefield 2 from amazon, install went great, No problems, its been about 7 years since i played the game, i got another copy for my friend and his son

UNTIL, I Tried to startup a Singlepayer game, My account needs to be online.

Like alright, ill just create a new EA account, nope, So i use the EA  On the phone Tech Support

I learn that the BF 2 Servers are down, im like "Oh alright"

I learn from the nice Dood on the phone, if i have a old account with EA Then i would be able to play the game, And it sounded like he was kinda mad himself that he couldn't play anymore

I sift thru the Endless drawer of games in my desk (I keep account info on the manuals and such) I find a EA game With some account info on it some "Register with EA to receive ..."

My question is can i use the account info on BF2? i just need to figure out which email it belonged to!

I'm genuinely unsure, sorry. It's worth trying it, but BF2 doesn't have any support any more so I can't confirm whether or not this account will work.
