When I tried repairing it added the registry folders but it didn't add my CD key to the ergc key value, so I modified it with the cd key now it works.

Adding the key to the registry...

For anyone who doesnt want to go messing about in the registry you could just make a .reg file and add the key to that and when you run it the key will be added to the registry for you..

- Go to my games in your origin client

- Right click battlefiled 1942 and choose 'show game details" to find your CD key

- Open up notepad

- Paste in this code (put your cd key in the space indicated in the code replaceing the words ADD CD KEY HERE with your CD key from the origin client.

This method is for the 64 bit version

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\Origin\Battlefield 1942\ergc]
@="ADD CD KEY HERE"

This method is for the 32 bit version

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\Origin\Battlefield 1942\ergc]
@="ADD CD KEY HERE"

The rest of the steps works for both 32 and 64 bit

- Save the notepad file as NewKey.reg to your desktop

- Then double click the saved file to add the key to the registry

- You will get a warning about adding keys to the registry but just ignore it

- You only need to do this once so you can now delete the file.

Its that simple ..have fun Confusedmileyhappy:

i found that going to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\Origin\Battlefield 1942\ergc (FOR 64bit OS)
and modifying the ergc file by copying and pasting your key. in stead of making the new folders worked as well.

Just downloaded BF 1942 and it does not work. EA has added the Origin, Battlefied and ergc and it does not work. I also tried to repair and still getting the invalid Key message.
