An old issue about BFV in-game sound...

Hi everyone !
Recently I installed BFV on my old laptop with original CD,
then updated to the v1.21 patch, but something went wrong...
There are no sound when using the in-game radio command and the vehicle music.
I know this is an old issue on the Win7 or Vista, but my system is WinXP SP3...Devil

I tried to turn the BFV audio settings all to LOW but no use, in the win 98/Me compatibility mode, the sound works, but it causes other issue (can't choose weapon when reborn).
I also installed BF1942 and it works just fine...

My laptop is the old ASUS A8J, but the XP SP3 is fresh installed and up to date, the specs are:
CPU: C2D T7600 2.3 GHz
RAM: 2G
VGA: ATi Mobility Radeon X1700 512MB (with Caltalyst 10.2)
Audio: ADI Soundmax AD1986A HD Audio
WLAN: Intel 3945abg

I tried to change my sound card to the Creative X-Fi Notebook and the BFV EAX setting but nothing changed......

What reason causes this problem? Is there any way to solve it except the compatibility mode?

Thanks a lot !!

well i my self had this problem on windows 7

only way to fix it was to set on compatibility mode windows nt or   2000

but as your on windows xp the game should have worked!!

the only thing i can think of that can be problem is sp3 on xp

bfv was released on 14 March 2004 windows xp was on sp1 at that time

and ea track record of not fixing issues fit in as bf2 was released on 2005 they just forget about bfv

I found something interesting here : http://www.bfmods.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=9715

Tried the "WinNT4SP5VersionLie" way, same as the compatibility mode, BFV can't recognized my CD...

The .rfa is probably the root cause, but I don't know how to "extract" the file? If I delete the file it just makes no sound at all.

I used to play BFV on my P4 3.0 desktop, it integrated an AC97 sound chip, and the game worked well.

Maybe HD audio is the problem? Is something wrong with the UAA driver just like win7?

If so, but why BF1942 had no problem?
